qPCR Master Mix Beads
We developed a set of blank lyophilized qPCR master mix reagent beads that are based on carefully selected, robust set of lyo-friendly enzymes, master mixes, excipients, and additives. Blank qPCR master mix beads have all the assay components for a reaction except the primers, probe and template.
Developing stable, sensitive, and reproducible molecular diagnostic (PCR) assays is usually a challenging process especially for point-of-care (POC) applications. Researchers frequently develop assays in liquid format first and delay reagent formula drying stabilizing efforts until later date. In many cases, this leads to enzyme re-selection and complete assay re-development, loss of valuable time, and resource shortages.
To resolve many of the assay design problems, we developed a set of blank lyophilized qPCR master mix reagent beads.
Using our blank master mix beads from the start of your assay development process has several benefits, including the following:
- Reducing time and cost:
- The time-consuming and costly steps of selecting enzymes and excipients are eliminated
- The process development and validation times are significantly reduced
- Reducing Risk:
- The risks of failure in assay sensitivity and stability are dramatically reduced
Blank master mix beads have all the assay components for a reaction except the primers, probes, and template. We can accommodate clients requiring blank beads with enzymes from a specific source. Our beads are customizable to fit specific assay needs.
A variety of packaging options are available: 8-strip PCR tubes, 96-well plates, or any other custom format. Our standard beads support 20 µL reactions but can also be customized for specific assay volumes.

The use of lyophilized or freeze-dried reagents has become an POC industry standard as the best way to incorporate assay reagents into disposable cartridges
- Dried reagent(s) have long shelf-life (stability)
- Cold-chain storage and shipment is averted
- A more cost-effective process than lyophilizing in cartridges
- Beads can be tested before cartridge assembly, mitigating risk of wasting whole cartridge with multiplex reactions
- Beads lyophilizing process takes 100 times less freeze-dryer shelf space than lyophilizing whole cartridge
